Irfanview on Windows Vista Home Premium

Installing Irfanview4 on friends new HP laptop and get the error message that Irfanview was not Win32 compliant...any clues? Will we be notified when it is?

This error message says more about the crappy Vista environment, than the capabilties of Irfan View.
It probably has something to do with those dreadful new user rights.

Couldn't agree more about the Vista Environment, just wondering if anyone else had a problem installing Irfanview in it. Used Irfanview on 4 other OS's and never had a problem, this one threw me for a loop. Hard to recommend a program when it doesn't install, that's why I'm hoping a fix is on the way. Oh, yeah...I tried installing it as the Administrator, not the User.

        Hi,

i switched back to win xp pro, but i could get IrfanView running under Vista.

You may try to use the zipped variant of IrfanView :

Maybe that could help you !

The .exe version installed easily on my Vista Home Premium laptop and runs there with no problems.
