    Fixed Explorer hangs after quitting Irfanview

    From old Forum:

    Hi,
    when I open an image with Explorer IrfanView pops up and I press ESC to return to explorer. Now the explorer 'hangs' for 1-2 seconds. I can't doubleclick on another image right away. If I wait some time before pressing ESC or browse some images with PG-DWN/Space there is no problem after quitting IV.

    It's the same situation with e.g. Total Commander: The Cursor Bar 'hangs' there after leaving Irfanview.

    I already tried on different machines (all WinXP Prof. SP2 latest HotFixes), disabled AntiVirus, different AVs (Avira/Kaspersky) no improvement

    This behaviour doesn't exist with XnView. I also can't reproduce it on Vista32.
    Same problem in previous versions (3.85, 3.99).

    Maybe some XP Hotfix causes this behaviour ?

    Anyone with the same experience ?

    TIA funta

    Edit:
    I've uploaded a small video which shows the problem:

    1) I open Test1.jpg
    2) IrfanView shows the image
    3) I press ESC to get back to the folder
    4) Now I try to immediately select Test2.jpg and Test6.jpg (I actually click on them!) ==> nothing happens, explorer 'hangs'
    5) After ~ 1 sec. I can select the images Test2.jpg and Test6.jpg
    It usually takes 1-2 sec. to respond again.

    Solution

    Seems this happens on systems with IE7 installed. The Solution to this is:

    Control Panel -> Regional Settings
    Languages -> Details -> Advanced
    System Configuration
    [x] diasble adv. text services

    (sorry, only german win screenshot)
