Decrease color depth in File -> Batch conversion

Decreasing color depth in Batch conversion seems not to work

I am decreasing color depth of some GIF files to 16 (i.e. from 8BPP to 4BPP)

If I do it using the Image -> Decrease color depth, then it works,
    that means:
    1) using Image -> Palette -> Edit Palette I can verify that there are actually 16 colours.
    2) if I save the file, I get a smaller file.

If I do it using the advanced options in the File -> Batch conversion, then the color depth is not reduced.
Yes, I remembered to check the "use advanced options".

Here too. Is there any other tool active in the batch dialog simultaneously?

        I tried again,

It seems that the Batch and Single conversion work in a different way only if the Floyd-Steinberg dithering is selected.

        When deselected everything works fine.
