Images modified by Irfanview can't be reloaded into my camera

    Hi,

I have a new Canon 720IS. I find that if I modify an image from the camera in Irfanview then the camera will no longer recognize it. For instance if I do an auto adjust colors, but do not change the image size. If I do this in (for example) PaintShopPro the camera does recognize it. So Irfanview is somehow producing jpeg files that Canon won't recognize.

Must be losing something...are you preserving EXIF info in jpeg options? Or the header...or...cameras are quirky about files, I remember some post long past about file and folder problems with a camera. Maybe someone can find it better than I can lol
    Its: Belongs to "It"
It's: Shortened form of "It is"
    ---------------------
    Lose: Fail to keep
    Loose: Not tight

Yes, EXIF and IPTC are retained.

I can't find any setting that causes the camera to recognize the image. I love to use Irfanview and it is a real pain that I have to use some other program to put images into the camera. Even if I just use the lossless jpeg rotate on the image it cannot be reloaded into the camera.
