    Irfanview Flash Plug-ins

Does one need both Flash.dll and Flash4.dll? I understand that one is Adobe and one is Macromedia. Is one extraneous?

    Thanks,
    Janet

Good question. I wondered about that too.
I tested this with a *.SWF file, and both appeared to be needed. Flash4 is the Adobe one.

      Nope. Only Flash.dll is needed.

        Flash.dll problem

        I've just installed Irfanview 4.20 (I've Windows XP Servicepack2)

In Irfanview thumbnail view, none of the swf's pictures are appearing, only a logo. Other pictures e.g. jpg's & gif's display thumbnails.

Double clicking a swf gives an error message re Flash.dll & suggest a download from Irfanview. So downloaded plug-ins, Flash.dll (& Flash4.dll) are now both in Program Folder\Irvanview but thumbnails not displaying. Double clicking a swf now reveals a single swf. Rebooted, but no difference.

Old versions of Irfanview displayed swf thumbnails, have they been dropped or is there a fault?

          User's fault again. Wrong folder.

          Copy Flash.dll into C:\Program Files\IrfanView\Plugins folder. (Flash4.dll not needed).
