    strange icon

    Hi everyone:

A few of my jpeg files have a small thing attacthed to the irfran 'cat' icon. It looks like a very teeny clock or something, located in the lower left of the 'cat' icon. All my files are jpegs, and they still work okay, so I'm not sure what this indicates. Can someone help ?

Check the filesize of these files. They might be shortcuts to images.

No, I did check, it's a full-sized file. It may have something to do with network security attributes or something. I just can't figure it out.

Traci, do any other icons have that same odd overlay? Makes me curious. I would think there would be something in the file Properties...duh - I skipped Wndows2K, lol, hopped from 98 to XP

Yes, as it turns out I do have a couple of windows yellow folder icons that have the same teeny black clock with white hands in the lower left of it. So it looks like it might be a Windows 2000 thing. Maybe the file's corrupted or has some security tag hanging it up. The jpeg that has the clock icon beside the irfran 'cat' seems to open okay, but it was in with a batch of jpegs that became corrupted.

              To steve:
I thought: "Now there's a pretty usable reply!" But what a pity, it doesn't seem to work in version 4. I tried the trick with 3.97 and there it worked fine (even without system reboot). Do you know how I can use another icons.dll in version 4? Maybe in the ini-file?
Oh, never mind... I deleted my i_view32.ini file and now it's working!

Same here. I have been wondering what that black overlay in shell32.dll is for.

I have yet to see one of the things. I'm just stubborn, and can't let go of a good puzzle. It took a couple of Google sessions and changes of word combinations before I started to get a clue.
