    Directory File List Error

If you hit 'open', and read the list in the directory, you can then browse the files. But if you externally (windoze explorer) move or delete those files, and move other files into that directory, when you next hit 'open', you see the new files, but, irfanview still thinks the old ones are in there too. If you start browsing, you get error messages.
I have to browse to another directory, read it, then return to the original one to get irfanview to refresh the directory list accurately.
Irfanview should update the directory list anew every time you hit 'open', shouldn't it?

    love it anyways, thx,

It doesn't update automatically, but pressing the F5 key will do it.
    Its: Belongs to "It"
It's: Shortened form of "It is"

      Re: Auto Refresh

It really shouldn't update automatically. This is especially true because you can enter a custom file pattern in the directory index box or make a custom selection. You usually wouldn't want to update under these conditions.

Click on the View Menu, then click Refresh (F5 or U). The image on screen will be updated. The directory will also be updated and the directory count display will be created new.
