I don't know whether this is an IrfanView-bug or a Vista-bug, but anyway.
In IrfanView (4.0) you can make a screensaver with selected pictures, I tried it and moved the created file to 'Windows\system32' but it doesn't work. Double-clicking nor installing works. I used quite a lot of pictures (270 MB), but also 1 picture doesn't work. It is clearly saved as a screensaver and the filename doesn't contain spaces (other standard screensavers also don't have spaces).
When I try to execute the screensaver in another folder it works by double-clicking, but not by installing (right-mouse-button), only the screensaver window is opened but I can't create a preview.
I want to do it in this way because the standard screensaver in Vista compresses the images (the pictures are mostly 2560x1600 and they appear blurry when I use effects and aliased when i use the classic-setting). So, does anybody know what the problem is? Can someone else try it in Vista and does it work in XP or is it an IrfanView-bug? Thanks in advance.
