    Effects.dll; red eye issue

    Hi all,

    I'm at a loss . . .

I've installed 4.0. I've installed All Plugins from http://www.irfanview.net/index.htm. I've tried extracting the instaling iv_effects.zip to my C:\Program Files\IrfanView\Plugins directory.

But I can't reduce red eye. The Effects.dll file is missing; it does not appear in the plugins directory .

Any advice? I have some red eye I need to reduce.

    TIA

    Red Eye Removal

Effects.DLL is indeed in IV Plugins Directory.
If your effects.dll file is missing, then uninstall Irfanview and re-install from new download.
Likewise download new Plugins and double click download file to automatically install.
    Good Luck
    Long Live Irfanview!

A bit of a misunderstanding here : the effects.dll file is not part of the additional package "iv_effects.zip".
It's embedded in the IrfanView setup itself. So no need to download the four plugin groups again.

I'm not 100 % sure this will work, but you can find (for the moment) the single DLL here

        Effects.dll

Thanks for the link. i extracted it to the plugins directory and everything is working properly.

Effects.dll was NOT installed with the 4.0 app.

        Thanks again.

Hmm. Not installed. I recall vaguely a discussion between the nature of installing the full package in one,
          or doing it seperately.

Full package? Do you mean after downloading, you install IV plus the plugin package in one session? I've searched for a full package on the Irfan Download site but couldn't find the way to a full package.

With full package I mean the difference of using the 'one large EXE or ZIP' version, or using the four seperate ZIP files.

                Effects.dll

I have not been able to use effects at all. I have ulpdated and downloaded everything I could find and still no effects.dll. The above thread just stops, what can I do to get effects.dll if uninstall/reinstall does not work?

I remember another thread about a missing effects.dll.
So you can find the file here.
Should be placed in the Plugins subdirectory.

                    i had the same problem...

                    Can't load Plugin: "EFFECTS.DLL" !
Please download Plugins from Irfanview homepage!

I tried Sam_Zen's download links and:

Oops! This link appears to be broken.

Broken indeed. I removed it after a while.
So a new one with the DLL can be found here

It might be easier uninstalling IrfanView, running Revo Uninstaller (to clean up all left-overs) and re-installing IrfanView and its matching Plugins once again!
                        Download IrfanView Help Manual from:
                        IrfanView Website - Here
