Your desktop is there, though perhaps not as you expect. Just browse to:
C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Desktop\Before you post ... Edit your profile • IrfanView 4.62 • Windows 10 Home 19045.2486
Irfan Paint • Irfan View Help • IrfanPaint Help • Riot.dll • More Skins • FastStone Capture • Uploads

The "Desktop" and other special-folder items in the Windoze Explorer folder tree are a species of Micro$oft Mystical Shortcut. The IrfanView thumbnail browser (like most alternative file managers) does not display user-specific information, only the "real" file system. Its: Belongs to "It"
It's: Shortened form of "It is"

Lose: Fail to keep
Loose: Not tight

Plurals do not require apostrophes

Hi,
of course you can view desktop and my documents/music etc. folder:
Open IrfanView, press key "t".
Click on "Options" then "Set thumbnail options".
In the opening dialog click on "Show common shell features".
Then you´ll be able to view these folders
steve
EDIT:
For ini freaks (like me):
Code:[Thumbnails] ShowShell=1

Ah, so. How embarrassing - I had that on, and the Desktop was there - but I am totally blind to it because I never put anything there! LOL! I just now unchecked it to get rid of the clutter. Its: Belongs to "It"
