    Requested asian encoding file name

When I try to open a file with different encoding name, for example chinese or japanese, Irfanview cannot open the file; same if a normal file is inside a folder with different encoding name.
As windows support asian files and folders (since windows 2000) it would be nice if Irfanwiew can support it too.

    Thanx

If you do a forum search on "unicode", you will find several complaints about this.
Unfortunately so far, IrfanView doesn't fully support Unicode characters.
I think it should, but that's up to the maker.

Yes, IrfanView only supports the local codepage, which is becoming increasingly obsolete.

@ Irfan: your picture viewer is a great program. Please consider supporting Unicode filenames in the near future.
