    Requested Wipe files on Delete

Currently IrfanView can delete images or move them to the trashcan ("Delete to Recycle Bin"). There should be an extra option to wipe images (overwrite and delete), so that they can't be recovered, which would be good for sensitive images.

In the meantime you could use the free glary utilities. After installation you get a Wipe, Encrypt and Split tool in your context-menu.

Thanks for the advice. Currently I'm using Eraser ( http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/ ) which is also free (GPL).

A possible workaround, without leaving IrfanView, alter the image radically (including any exif and iptc data) and save it before deleting. If one doesn't have a way to install a wiper... My file manager, Free Commander, wipes.
