I usually have a window or two open from IrfanView (unsaved screen shot or something).
When I move around in the office with laptop, it's using scaling (1440p, with 150% scale) on the only connected (aka internal) display.
When I get back to my desk, I connect two more monitors (via a dock; OneLink+), and my primary display is now changing to a 1920x1200@100% display.
I often find IrfanView unresponsive after this, and need to kill ("Close this app") and restart it.
