Requested Canvas - Paste special

Currently if you use the "paste special" feature after changing the canvas size of a photo, and select paste right, the new image is pasted all the way to the right of the current image, on the far end of the canvas. Can a selection be created to paste the new image directly next to the current image, on its right? Am I missing something and can it currently be accomplished?

Not with Paste special. That always attaches the clip to an outside edge of the image.
Why do you want to use Paste special? If you make the extra canvas big enough for the clip then you could use normal Paste.
