    Requested Re-Enumerate Folder?

Hi, I love Irfanview but there's one thing I wish it would do that would make life much easier for me, and I think would be relatively easy to implement(?).

That is, if the contents of the folder I am viewing files from changes, that I could ask Irfanview to update its "internal" file list to know that files have been deleted or added. I draw comics, and am constantly dropping new files into the working folder, and I use Irfanview to step through them and view them. But if, say, the folder contains Page1.psd and Page2.psd, and then I add Page 3.psd, it doesn't know it is there. I have to close Irfanview and re-open it so that it knows. Likewise if I delete Page2.psd, Irfanview will try to open it as I step past from Page1.psd to Page3.psd, and throw an error. Even if I use the Open command to bring up the file open dialog and open a file from there, Irfanview still doesn't know the new folder contents.

So if there were some command like "Re-Enumerate Folder" on the file menu, or if Irfanview simply re-enumerates a folder whenever File/Open is used, that would make things a lot easier for me personally and I hope for a few other users too.

Regardless of that, many thanks for a great program!

I suggest you a workaround that, IIRC, should do the trick: press Home, left, right: IrfanView will re-enter the current directory, re-enumerating the files.

Isn't that what pressing F5 does?

Yes, F5 will re-read the directory, or the U key (for update as used in old versions).
