PNG with transparency saved from Photoshot displaying correctly

If I have a Photoshop file with a transparent background that I then save as a PNG and open that PNG in Irfanview it shows as a solid block and not the graphic that's supposed to show.

My guess is that there is some issue in how PS is saving the PNG because Irfanview, ImageMagick, and the GD library all seem to have problems with a certain few PNG files that I've saved out of Photoshop.

    Any suggestions?

So, apparently, it seems like an internal problem of PS, rather than of IV.
But it's a matter of representation, the transparancy is still there. For example if you add this PNG on a HTML-page, it's correct.
IV maybe is using a default black color for transparant area's, so it seems like a solid rectangle.
Check Options/Properties/Misc.1 at "Show PNG alpha/transparent color"
