command-line option for saving thumbnails as an image?

looked through the help and did some searches here...am not finding much, so here goes:

i want to batch the generation of thumbnails and save them to a single image. i have used that feature from within the program, but it would be *so* slick to batch it instead. this would be a command-line arg such as:

/saveimage="testimage.jpg"

to augment the regular syntax such as:

"C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe" "C:\images\" /thumbs /filepattern="*.jpg"
