Is the Irfanview insert text tool the most useless feature of any image editor ever?

It's a close first, with having the Escape key quit the program being a mighty close second. Why is the insert text tool so absolutely useless? Hold to preview? Can't be moved after closing? No bounding box? This tool is useless at best. Can we get a bounding box, the ability to resize, etc. (something even MicroCrap Paint has)? Who even came up with this, a high school programmer?

Better yet, why isn't this program open source yet? The unwillingness of the original creator to get rid of the escape quit is enough proof that its time this program is separated into "what Mr. Irfan wants" vs "what everybody else ever in the history of GUI wants"
