Image editing to combine 2 or more images and create a bigger image

I use other programs when I want to combine 2 or more images and create a bigger image such as a collage.
Question: Will Irfanview have that capability with layers in the future?

    Unlikely, in my opinion.

However, see https://irfanview-forum.de/forum/program/support/1101- (found using the forum search).

Thanks. I actually have the Affinity programs along with Coreldraw. I just used Affinity Photo to combine 2 images. Maybe one day Irfanview will have layers and editing ability. It does not have to be full featured like the other 2 programs but basic.

In the latest version of IrfanView you can move and resize a pasted image until you left click on it (or anywhere). Copy the image you want to add, from a 2nd instance of IV, select an area in the collage, paste the new image in, grab one of the handles to resize it, RIGHT-click to move it, and click anywhere to make it permanent. Undo if you don't like it and do it again. No layers, but works well for simple stuff. Start with an image you want to use as background.
