Requested Win 8 Start doesn't show Irfanview

IrfanView doesn't show up by default in the new Win 8 Start interface. So if you go to Start and type "IrfanView," you don't find the program. This is a real annoyance. I hope the coder can look into this so the program shows up in Start on installation.

    Meanwhile, here is a fix:

    1) In the Windows File Explorer, paste into the Location Bar (and then hit Enter):

    Code:
    %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    2) Right-click in that directory and select "New" to create a new shortcut. You can call it "IrfanView".

My shortcut is set to a target in the default location for IrfanView's executable:

    Code:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\IrfanView\i_view32.exe"
That's it! Now when you go to Start and begin typing "Irf..." you will see the program. Of course, you can click on it and IrfanView will open.

    See screenshot here.

    Cheers,
    /dr

    Hi,

this is a known problem with the version 4.33, also IrfanView is not shown in the start menu of any Windows version.
Your fix is the one recommended from Irfan.

    Regards
    Nils
