    Multipage TIFf Images: Resolution

    Hi All,

Sorry if it's been asked...when joining several tiff files what is the resolution of the combined file.

Here's an example: scanned several B&W docs, some of which were scanned @ 300dpi, while others were scanned @ 600dpi, due to more detai.
If you join them into one tiff file, what is the resulting resolution?

When I looked at the image metadata I see 300 dpi, but is it possible to join them such that the individual pages retain their 600dpi?

Sam question applies to creating one PDF file rom above tiff files.

    Thanks!

The resolution is irrelevant, it is the number of pixels and quality that matters, but in my quick test the resolution of both images was preserved.

I joined two images, one of 96 and one of 600 dpi, and saved it with Zip compression. JPG compression may degrade your scans without saving much in file size.
