Exe file slideshow does not play music

Hello,
I saved a Irfanview slideshow as exe file on my computer (I use windows 8.1). When I doubleclick on the exe file the slideshow starts but the music does not play. MP3 files not embedded in the exe file are played normally from my computer; the problem occurs only with the music (mp3 files) incorporated in the exe file slideshow.

Sorry, I do not know what to suggest.

There is a FAQ on the Irfanview website that says

Q: How can I add background sound for automatic slideshow or EXE/SCR?
A: In the slideshow dialog put/add MP3 files into the slideshow file list, usually at the begin or before an image. The MP3 file is played until it ends or until next MP3 is loaded from the file list. IrfanView PlugIns should be also installed, at least the MP3 PlugIn.

I have always assumed that the requirement for the MP3 plugin applied only when you created the slideshow and not when you played it but I have never tested that.
