    Default "Lock Zoom" No return to top left

    A wishlist for a great software i have been using for many many years.

    As an amateur photographer, we like to compare a series of pictures taken as a burst.
    What we do is compare one same point between pictures to see which image is the sharpest.

    I notice that the "Lock Zoom (only to fit images)" cannot help much on this issue.
    As it is always returns to top left whenever we skip between images.

    I wish that IrfanView LockZoom have an option "(not to) return to top left when skipping images".

    Thanks always to Irfan

    It's a messy workaround, but you could use a custom selection to pick out the same part of two or more different images.

    Clever trick, I must say.
    Strange. Those custom selection coords are obviously saved, but I couldn't find the data in the ini-file.

    This is a broader problem.
    It's not only a zoom factor with coords which is lost.
    A manual selection, and place some text in it. If 'undo', then not only the text is gone, but also the selection.
    It would be nice to have at least 2 undo-levels, to cover those coordinates, apart from some edit.

    Sure they are there, in the i_view.ini file:
    check out section:
    [Edit]
    CustSelX=80
    CustSelY=90
    CustSelW=123
    CustSelH=456
    CustUnit=0

    I wish to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather.
    Not like those passengers, in his car, when he drove over that cliff.

    Thanks. I used the wrong search strings.
