    Textmarker?

Is there a way to use/activate a textmarker function? Still annoying to use another program...

You can use the colour replacer tool in Irfan Paint.

    1. Press F12 to open the IrfanPaint plugin
    2. Select the Colour Replace brush
    3. Set the width of the brush to suit the size of your text
    4. Set the background colour to white (or whatever the paper colour is)
    5. Set the foreground colour to yellow (or whatever highlight colour you want)
    6. Paint over the text.

Thanks that works as a workaround (but knowing that other tools can highlight without defining the background --> useful when background changes)!

I do not understand that. This is an image with some text on it, right? (Yours appears to be a PNG). If so what makes the background change? Or do you mean the highlighting stretches across background areas of different colours?

The problem of changing background colours can be overcome by increasing the tolerance.

The background in the screenshot changes, but the highlight works OK

          - The blue at the top was done with FastStone Capture
          - The yellow at the bottom was done with IrfanPaint with the tolerance set to 25

I use the Color Corrections dialog to highlight areas on computer screenshots. Make a selection, click a few times on the left end of the Blue slider to move it in increments of 10 and highlight the selected area yellow, or click on both G and B to highlight in red. Native, non-plugin solution. Anti-alias gradients are highlighted as well.
