Why are there only so few output image formats?
Do i see it correctly that there is no option to have the output stay in this case .dds? If so is there any other option to convert them in a batch on irfanview (or another programm) back to dds ?

    DDS output is not supported.

Why are there so few output formats?
There are actually quite a lot, but input formats include vector formats, RAW formats, and animations. Providing support for generating these formats is not the duty of an image viewer that uses only a 24-bit Windows bitmap format to display images.

No doubt an Internet search will find programs that can export to DDS.
