    Batch Conversion Filename Collisions Issue

I am having an issue with Batch Conversion and wondered if any of you had a solution. I get collisions on file names when my smartphone creates multiple image files in the same clock second. Here's my example:

Exported from my iPhone with the same date and time stamp (all taken on 2020/05/03 at 17:40:01)
    IMG_0437(modified).JPG
    IMG_0437.HEIC
    IMG_0438(modified).JPG
    IMG_0438.HEIC

The results of a batch Rename with Irfanview. I use the Pattern: $E36867(%Y%m%d_%H%M%S). I also use the "Create duplicate file names" option.

    20200503_174001.HEIC
    20200503_174001.JPG

Batch Conversion in Irfanview results in collisions on these image file names as they are resized to a smaller resolution and converted to JPG. Instead of 4 files I end up with only 2.
    20200503_174001(1).JPG
    20200503_174001.JPG

The output I would like to get is this:
    20200503_174001.JPG
    20200503_174001(1).JPG
    20200503_174001(2).JPG
    20200503_174001(3).JPG

I am using the "Overwrite Existing Files" option of No. If I turn this option to Yes, then I still end up with just 2 files as each file gets overwritten once. So in addition to "Overwrite Existing Files" options of yes of no, could there be a third option to not overwrite but make them unique with a sequence number? This would work similar to the "Create duplicate file names" option in Batch Rename.

Has anyone else run into this issue and have a solution to share?

    Many thanks.

Have you recognized the [Options] button for the rename field?
Add a (#) at the end of the filename to get a numbering in brackets.
In Options, press [Help] for more information on the Name Pattern.

In the "Batch Rename Settings" dialog I see a section titled: "If same filename already exists". It lists 3 options, the second of which is "Create duplicate filename (for Copy/Move options)".
This appears to be the option I need but it is grayed out. Apparently this option is only available for Batch Rename. It seems like this would be the option I need when using Batch conversion - Rename result file option. It looks like others have wanted this type functionality as far back at 2014:

You can do both conversion and rename in the same batch operation.
