FLV (flash video) filetype is recognized as an image by Irfanview

The FLV (flash video) filetype is recognized as an image by Irfanview

When I set Irfanview's associated filetypes to 'images only', it also includes .flv and .swf files (which are not image files).

Please see point 2 in When is a Bug is Not a Bug

You may be of the opinion that SWF and FLV are multmedia rather than animated images. From what I have seen I would be inclined to include FLV with multimedia and SWF with animated images. Strictly speaking they are neither, but Irfan apparently decided that they should be included with images. Whatever our personal opinion might be, it is very unlikely to be a bug (i.e. not the intended behaviour).

      I have read that rule.

In this case, I thought it was an oversight rather than the software author's preference.

I have just recently noticed that this oversight/bug () has now been fixed.
