Opening Files with Asian Characters in Filename

I am running Win XP SP2 and Irfanview 3.97 and when I try to open a JPG with Chinese characters in the name I get the error "Can't read file header, unknown file format" but other programs will open the file just fine and if I change the file name so that it has only English characters then Irfanview opens it without problem.

Upgrade to IrfanView 4.2 and enable Unicode filename support in Properties, Misc1.

      unicode plugin

That is, what I also want to say you!
      See the following two screenshots:

(To enlarge click on the pictures!)

You can read, it's a "Basic Unicode support"!
It is possible that is not a full support!
What it means exactly concerning the program IrfanView, knows only the author of the Unicode Plugin!!

        This is now under Options>Properties>Language.
Check the check box: "Load Unicode Plugin at program start (for file names with non-latin characters)"
There is a nice write up on this in the Help FAQs with a nice link.
Good job people. I hope you smile 25 times today :-)
