    BitsPerPixel not displaying correctly?

I saved an 8bit/channel RGB tiff (4MB) and 16bit/channel RGB tiff (8 MB), but both show in IV as 24bits/pixel.

Bug, or don't I get my maths right ?

MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

      thanks!

The image is correctly detected as 48 bpp, but IV supports only 24 bpp images, so it's downgraded to 24 bpp when is loaded; see attachment.

I see. Thanks for checking! Are you sure that there's no difference between a 48bpp image and it's 24bpp conversion when displayed in IV? I thought there was less color banding with the 48bpp image. So I was just imagining ?

I just checked. There IS a slight difference. Not necessarily less colour banding or better quality though. Just different it seems.
