Reported V4.25: Windows 7 BSOD when browsing Vid files in Thumbnails Screen

I am running Windows 7 x86-64 (RC2) with Irfanview 4.25. I have over 2800 avi files (security footage) that I browse through in the Irfanview Thumbnail screen. When I scroll down to about half the files W7 crashes with a blue screen and the fillowing error:

    cdd.dll: STOP 0x00000050
    Paged fault in non-paged area.

I can reproduce this fault every time.

This seems to work ok in XP SP3 (i386).

    Cheers

Possibly it is a problem with Windows 7!

see also: "Full size image? / Why there is no thumbnail preview on Windows 7?"

Definitely a possibility but I thought I'd mention it as W7 will be released next month...

      Cheers

You have both operating systems in the same computer, or separate?
        Its: Belongs to "It"
It's: Shortened form of "It is"

          Hey,

i have the same problem, but not with vids but with pics. When I let the thumbnail-tool open some Pictures (~ 1.300) and scroll them, then at about the half i got a bluescreen.

This happens every time. If i use the Windows Thumbs or XNView, no bluescreen appears.

          Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
          Last IV Version 4.25
          Q6600, 4GB RAM

Seems to be a Win7-64bit Problem?? Never had this on my old PC (Win XP Prof. SP3)

              Sorry, i dont understand...

IV ("Thumbnails") ist until now the only software, that shoot Windows 7. How should the people in the Win 7 forum know, what IV does that the BlueScreen happens. This happens every time.. maybe i take a clip with my dvcam!

              Thankx

Juergen, is this the same problem as mine?

                See http://en.irfanview-forum.de/vb/showthread.php?t=5647

Can you download Bluescreenview and look if your crashes are similar to mine?

I think this is a bug with Irfanview and Windows 7, not something random.

P.S. And what is your graphics card and driver version?
