XP: Stop Slideshow and close ... after the last image?

Standalone slideshows (exe or scr) have a different behavior:
The .exe closes but .scr didnt close or didnt be black!

Is this a bug or a feature?

An scr is a screensaver and it continues running, in a loop, as long as the computer remains idle. That's what screensavers do.

No, while I have not set the option "loop slideshow"!

If scr-slideshow starting with a doubleclick
the show finishes anytime and the last picture (!) remains, not black screen.

OK, sorry. I have only ever created an scr once. I probably did have it set to Loop slideshow.

However, it would seem reasonable that a screensaver should finish by continuing to show the last image if set not to loop. They are probably not supposed to close themselves. Normally it is the system that terminates them automatically when a user action is detected at keyboard or mouse.

If you want the screen to blank at the end of your screensaver show you could just create a black image and add it as the last file of the show.
