I haven't had a look, but it is also possible to run a virtualizing software like VirtualBox, VMWare or Virtual PC and install Windows XP in a virtual machine. If your new computer have enough memory (PS7 should max. use 3GB, but maybe only 2GB of RAM) this sohuld be an alternative scenario. So you do not need to restart your computer if you like to run PS7.
It might also be possible to install PS7 in your Windows 7 and change the compatibility mode to Windows XP.
