On my system I have used this following logical sequence for installation:- Ghostscript
- IrfanView
- all plugins of IrfanView
I have used also the default installation path for Ghostscript!
And everything works very well!
But I'm using the 32 bit version of Ghostscript on Windows XP SP3!
I don't have any experiences in using of IrfanView on Win 7 64 bit!
Maybe it's better to get some answers from other users, which using the same OS as you!

Hi,
I have also Windows 7 x64 and I can open PDF files with IrfanView v4.27.
I have just installed IrfanView and all the plugins. Then I downloaded GhostScript v8.71 and installed it. Since IrfanView is an 32bit application it will also call the 32bit version of GhostScript.
I did not have a 64bit version of GhostScript installed. So please uninstall any GhostScript version and IrfanView. Reboot your computer and check if there is something left:
C:\Program Files (x86)\IrfanView => IrfanView folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\gs => GhostScript 32 bit
C:\Program Files\gs => GhostScript 64 bit
If you find any of these folder delete it.
Then install IrfanView, the plugins (you need at least the iv_formats plugins) and the 32bit version of GhostScript.
Then you should be able to open PDF files using IrfanView.
Regards, Nils.
