Does exist an open format database-like file such as in ACDSee?

Hi all!

Years ago I worked with ACDSee and found quite useful its ACDDatabase.xml description file. It was extremely useful because of its portability (and XML open format).
Does IrfanView has a similar feature? I am unable to recover with other software IPTC data added with IrfanView.

Alternatively, does exist a plugin that allows import/export data between ACDDatabase.xml and IPTC data?
