Before read, the bug/request is a better error handling of GIF (and not only GIF) images. Thank you!
I've ripped some images from a http sniffer log (with data). The problem appeared in thumbnail browser (1st) when IV encounted the corrupted GIF's. Virtual memory for IV growed to +200 & +300MB for each (attached) images. It won't open them (or t least it belives that in some frame the size changes and try to allocate the memory for the (bigger) image/frame. Test images:
GIF00005.GIF - GIF GIF89a [154x155] with 256 colors, 2667 bytes
GIF00009.GIF - GIF GIF89a [117x98] with 256 colors, 1967 bytes
The test trying to open the images:
1) Internet Explorer 6 - who won't display nothing but...
...shows bad dimensions of image (984x127) ?!?!
2) Opera - bad image size
3) Animagic (corrupt GIF/can't open)
4) JASC Paint Shop Pro 6 (corrupt GIF/can't open)
5) Microsoft Photo Editor (corrupt GIF/can't open)
6) Windows Pictures adn Fax Viewre (corrupt GIF/Drawing failed)
Note: only GIF00005.GIF used in screenshots above
