Requested Support the Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC)

I really appreciate what Irfanview has to offer. Thanks for making it.

I use Irfanview for everything. And would like to use it for playing flac files. I've been cataloging my CD collection and burning most everything to flac (or .wav)

Any possibility of flac joining with ogg and the rest?

    FYI

I had to look it up, but for the others FLAC= Free Lossless Audio Codec
I wish to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather.
Not like those passengers, in his car, when he drove over that cliff.

      Definitely supporting this request.
I use the FLAC format a lot. It's indeed very useful for archiving sound files.
They get about some 3 or 4 times smaller, but one can still retrieve the original WAV without loss.
And it should indeed join the OGG format, also because it's opensource as well.
So it could be added in the plugin "Soundplayer.dll" which provides the OGG playing.

        Hi,

it seems that there hasn't been too much traffic in this thread for a long time. But since FLAC codec becomes more and more spread, and thus, important, I think it would really be worthwhile to think about this request again.

        Thanks,
        Thoskk
