I don't want to play music with this program!

Hi there!

I downloaded irfanview as a picture viewer but when I scroll through my desktop, viewing the pictures I eventually come across a .wav or .mp3 file and it starts playing that. This causes AND a second song to start playing while I'm listening music already AND I can't scroll away because I'm controlling the song.

I don't want this program to play any music, I already have all the programs I need for that. Is this possible?

Then please don't associate these formats with IrfanView!

See IrfanView program menu: \Options\Properties/Settings...\Extensions\
Undo the associations with formats you don't want associate with IrfanView!
That's your problem!
