Creating coloured rounded corners on a square image

Hi I have square cornered jpeg images. I'd like to change the corners of these images to a different colour. For example I have a black square picture. I want to upload this image onto a red background and make the black square look like it has rounded corners. It won't actually have as it'll still be a square image but if I could put red rounded corners on it, it would appear to have rounded corners. Is there a way I can do that using Irvan view?
