    RAW to TIFF

My cameras prouce their RAW files as .kdc [Kodak] and .v3f [Sigma]

Opening my RAW files in Irfanview and saving as TIFF with no compression seems delightfully easy.
The question is, does the resulting TIFF file respect the full bit-depth of the original file? Other than specifying no compression in saving, is there anything else I should do to assure the full depth?

Obviously, I'm most interested in Kodak and Sigma images.

    Thanks

What is the bit depth of the original images? If they are 16-bit per channel, then the answer is probably "No, you should use an image editor, not an image viewer."
