    Does it say it contains a virus, or that it may contain a virus? Norton Antivirus seems to be just too good at throwing its hands up with false positives as soon as it encounters a compressed executable file. There are several previous threads for earlier downloads.

    Norton stated a virus was found: WS.reputation.1

    Thanks. The problem has been submitted to Norton. I hope others have submitted it as well.

    @Adam A. Wanderer:

    Where did you download the infected plugin? (Give us the link!)
    (Because my Norton Internet Security doesn't report such virus alert!)

    regards

    I downloaded the file from brothersoft and scanned it with Avast and Malwarebytes. No problems were found.

    The checksum matches that of the file I downloaded from the plugins page of the IrfanView site.

    Alternative download site: irfanview_plugins_432_setup.exe
    (MD5 checksum: 81247a07268c31ea18464001fe59ad5c)
