Won't let me get new fonts

I tried downloading a new font today, the first time since I started using Infran View at the beginning of February. Before, I would download the zip file, open it, and click "Install" and everything would work fine. Now, when I try to open the TTF file, it gives me a "decode error" and something along the lines of "Can't load plug-in: FORMATS.DDL"

What can I do to make this work?

Download the font again, or tell us where you got it from.

Does IrfanView still preview other fonts OK?

Windows 7 seems to have problems with TTF fonts. I found that they were not always properly installed using the Control panel Fonts dialog. Uninstall and install again using the old Windows Font Viewer. You will probably find that double clicking on the TTF file will open Windows font viewer by default. If not right click and use Open with (Windows font viewer is at C:\Windows\System32\fontview.exe).
