IrfanView doesn't show up by default in the new Win 8 Start interface. So if you go to Start and type "IrfanView," you don't find the program. This is a real annoyance. I hope the coder can look into this so the program shows up in Start on installation.
Meanwhile, here is a fix:
1) In the Windows File Explorer, paste into the Location Bar (and then hit Enter):
2) Right-click in that directory and select "New" to create a new shortcut. You can call it "IrfanView".
My shortcut is set to a target in the default location for IrfanView's executable:
That's it! Now when you go to Start and begin typing "Irf..." you will see the program. Of course, you can click on it and IrfanView will open.
See screenshot here.
