Thread: [4.35] Sorting by width doesn't seem to work

Question [4.35] Sorting by width doesn't seem to work

I'm no IrfanView expert, so it could be just my lack of experience with it.

I need to sort pictures by width, so that I can easily select pictures that were shot "normally" (ie. by holding the camera horizontally: width = 2592 pixels), and the few that were taken vertically (width = 1944 pixels), so as to make it easy to batch-resize them in one go.

However, as shown in the attached screenshot, "Sort thumbnail > by Image width" doesn't work as expected, where vertically-shot pictures are mixed with horizontally-shot pictures.

What is the easy way to sort pictures by width before applying a resize ratio?

    Thank you.

You need to set the Auto rotate option in Properties in the Main viewer window. Otherwise your portrait images are all "on their side" and height and width are swapped.
