I imagine that it could be really useful for developers and hobbyists to be able to convert or batch convert images to DDS format ~note: I do not mean convert to Normal maps.
I do mean having the option to select to save to DDS format, and choose from the supported DDS color/compression formats; also to be able to batch convert entire directories of hi-res source images, and (with the existing advanced options) have Irfanview ~for instance, save them all in a sub-folder as 512x512 dxt1 images ~or to use different settings; and to be able to batch convert large image collections quickly.
