View Full Version : Slow Generation of Info for High Dynamic Range Images

I work with big hdr files (2048x2048) and the info in explorer toolbar takes really long (about 20 seconds) to show. I understand that generating a thumbnail from such picture could take long (already switched to list view in the folders where i keep such files) , but i think there is no need to parse the whole hdr file just to get the resolution, deph and pixel format info, or not?

I had to look up hdr to find out that it means High Dynamic Range (http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/high-dynamic-range.htm)

Is this question related to IrfanView? Does IrfanView take a long time to generate thumbnails? Have you tried other Image Viewers like FastStone Viewer or ACDSee?
