    3 feature requests

for me the most important feature that is missing, is the possibility to display always two consecutive pictures within the same window for direct comparisions as you proceed clicking through a picture folder. Even greater would be the possibility to select which of these 2 pictures you would like to stay and which you would like to proceed. Think about a foto session and you want to compare two arbitrary pictures directly in the same window. So this would take 4 control buttons - 2 for left picture forward/backward and 2 for right picture forward/backward.

Second feature I would be fond of is a way to go manually through all my pictures in random order without having to press CTRL + M which I find not very convenient. If I could just redefine the SPACE-Bar to do this, would be greatly appreciated. I just want to rapidly browse randomly through a huge picture collection and if I found something, I would like to normally proceed, so the slideshow feature does not exactely what I want. I just want one single button for random picture and a single button (arrow right) for the next picture in order according to the sorting criteria.

Third feature would be an option to automatically rotate pictures by 90 degrees if they have a big height and a much smaller width. If I'm not interested in enjoying the picture as a picture but rather would like to examine some small details which I often do, this would facilitate everything and would free me of always pressing the R key.

Would anybody else like some of these features too?

Your second feature: Open an image in the directory you want to browse. Click File/"Start slideshow with current file list" (set up random and whether to auto advance or click mouse or arrow keys) and if you see a photo you want to work with, click ctrl-n. Click back on the slideshow, and continue. When you are finished, exit the slideshow and you will see a blank IrfanView window. Close that window and underneath it you will find all your chosen images in separate IrfanView windows.
