v4.20 IV doesn't save ICC profiles

description: When saving images, IrfanView converts your images without warning into the sRGB color space

    reproducibility: always

    steps to reproduce:
    1. enable: properties/settings>>viewing>>use embedded color profiles
    2. open this image in IrfanView: http://www.gballard.net/psd/go_live_...Color_Test.jpg
    3. save it as any image file format
    4. open both images in an application that is not iCC-profile-aware (such as Firefox 2.x or IrfanView with "use embedded color profiles" disabled)

    Actual Results: images are different

Expected Results: images should look the same

    product: IrfanView
    version: 4.20

    Hardware platform:
    PC
    OS: XP

You can also try it with the .jpeg file attached to this posting. (It has an embedded ICC profile, that creates massive hue shifts compared to sRGB.)

    1) Activate "use embedded profiles".
    2) open the attached .jpeg file
    3) save it as IrfanViewConversion.jpeg
    4) view both images, they should both have correct colors => OK

    5) Deactivate "use embedded profiles"
    6) view both images, they should both have incorrect colors

=> BUT they don't! While colorspin.jpg now has incorrect colors,
unfortunately IrfanViewConversion.jpeg still has the correct colors,
because it was converted to sRGB and had its ICC profile stripped!
    This should NOT have happened!

      SOLUTION:

As a temporary solution i would like to propose that if a file contains a profile a small text stating "your picture will be converted to sRGB and any embeded profile will be removed" be added into the "save as" dialog.
