Bug - Slideshow File Errors (/silent)

I appreciate all the attempts at workarounds because they would solve my problem. However, isn't this really a bug in irfanview? It successfully ignores errors on all files in the folder except when it's the first image. Shouldn't it skip over the first image until it finds something it can display?

You definetely got a point here. Why if the first image, otherwise not ?

It could be interesting to emulate the slideshow by manually hitting the spacebar for the next items, and see if the same happens.

This is more complicated than as it seems. Skipping can be done for two reasons :
It's an unknown format for the application. Or it's a known format-extension, but the file is corrupt.

If I put one jpeg in the folder and a thumbs.db, it will work half the time and the other half not. If it starts on the jpeg it sits there and never fails. If it starts on the thumbs it fails and pops up the message.
