Reported Unable to open a file with no extension despite applying FAQ data.

    Hello,

I would like to be able to load files without extension. The situation is that some medical CDs contain such files (DICOM) without file extension.
Although I applied the data in the FAQ about "How can I load file types WITHOUT any extension during the browsing?",
whenever I try to load such file, I get this error message:
    ---------------------------
    IrfanView
    ---------------------------
    C:\Logidoc R and D\images\CUSL\IM0 : Can't read file header !

Unknown file format or file not found !
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------
I am using Windows XP SP3, IrfanView 4.25, plugins 4.25

Attached is my ini file so you can see my config (adding .txt to be able to upload it)
    Steps to reproduce:
Take a .dcm file that opens with IrfanView. Configure as per FAQ on this question. Remove the file ext to that file name. Try to open the file with IrfanView. You should (not...) get the above error. If you add again the .dcm extension, you will see that it opens normally. I could programmatically rename files, but not on a CD... Of course I can copy them from the CD, but it takes time...

      Tried with some CRW files

Tried with some CRW files, removed extension. Irfanview thought they were TIF files with improper extension....when telling it to rename or not to rename it then gives error dialog "Invalid or unsupported TIF file". I think someone may want to check other (maybe all) extensions that are handled by plugins.

I hate replying to myself, but wanna make sure I'm being clear. I guess I'm asking, does irfanview check with it's plug-ins before deciding it can't load files with no or incorrect extensions? How about before renaming?
