It has worked properly for years, but recently Irfanview won't play any sounds with .wmv files. Full control of video, but no sound. However, using the Options/Properties/Video/Sound and switching to Use External Player (IV_Player Plugin reqired), and the sound is perfect.
Switch back to Use Internal Video/Sound Player and it goes silent. All sound controls seem to be set correctly, no mute enabled, and sound is perfect in all other applications.
